Weekly Rock Band Workshop

Join with other guitar students or bring your friends who can sing, play guitar, bass, keyboard or drums to play your favourite songs, culminating in a concert.

Many students do not have the benefit of getting together with others to play in a band situation. This Weekly Rock Band Workshop provides this opportunity, as well as to introduce students to each other to foster ongoing friendships. Composition of original songs is also encouraged, which can be entered into various rock band competitions.

There are benefits to learning to play in a band situation that can’t be fully replicated with individual lessons, such as listening to others to play in time, for appropriate balance, sharing musical roles (accompaniment vs solo) etc.

This workshop would most suit those in the age bracket of 12 to 16, who already have some playing experience. This workshop is not intended for beginners.

Amplifiers and P.A. system provided.

Tutor:  Simon Costa

Cost:  $25 per session ($250 for a ten week term)

Place:  52 Gibbes Street, Chatswood.

Time: Tuesdays or Wednesdays, (to be confirmed) 7:15pm to 8:45pm

Dates:   Starting 28/07/09

Simon Costa is a qualified school teacher currently employed by the Department of Education and Training. As such, he has up-to-date records of The Working With Children Check, from the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998. 

Simon has Public Liability Insurance cover, which will cover participants for the duration of the camp. Simon does not accept responsibility for damage or loss to student’s equipment or instruments.

Terms and conditions:

• A term of nine or ten lessons is paid for in one payment.
• It is expected that participants come to every session. If the participant cannot come to a session, prior written notice should be given at least the day before the session not attended.
• If Simon cancels a session which is not made up, the cost will be credited to you.
• Simon does not accept responsibility for damage or loss to student’s equipment or instruments.
